Privacy Policy

Data We Collect

We collect your email address and name via Google OAuth for account creation. We store usage counts to enforce plan limits.

For paid subscribers we additionally store the Paddle subscription ID and the billing-period anchor needed to compute the monthly cost cap.

Data We Do Not Collect

We do not store the contents of your PDF documents. All PDF processing happens locally in your browser. Specifically, the following data lives only in your browser (IndexedDB and chrome.storage) and is never transmitted to our servers:

Uninstalling the extension or clearing browser data permanently deletes the above local data.

What We Send to AI Providers

When you actively trigger a chat or summarization, the relevant PDF text snippets and your prompt are sent to the AI provider on your behalf. We never send the raw PDF file, files outside the document you opened, or your browsing history.

Cookies & Tracking

We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. The service uses minimal storage technologies necessary for operation:

We collect server-side telemetry (request counts, latency, error rates) via Axiom for operational monitoring. This telemetry is keyed by user ID for authenticated requests, by IP for trial requests; it does not include prompt content or AI outputs.

Third Parties

We use Paddle for payment processing. Paddle acts as the Merchant of Record and handles VAT / tax compliance globally.

AI queries are proxied to Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google depending on your settings. Each provider's privacy policy applies to the data they receive.

Subscription Account Data

If you sign in and subscribe, the following are stored in our database (Cloudflare D1):

Usage records older than 90 days are deleted on a rolling basis.

International Data Transfer

Our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers, which serves requests from the nearest edge location globally. Your account data may be processed in any Cloudflare data center, including locations outside your country of residence. Cloudflare maintains GDPR-compliant data processing agreements.

AI requests are routed to the provider's nearest region (Anthropic / OpenAI / Google) per their respective infrastructure choices.

Children's Privacy

QPaper is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your Control

You can request export or deletion of your account data by emailing studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com. We process such requests within 30 days to align with GDPR requirements.

Changes to This Policy

We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when material changes are made. Continued use of QPaper after changes constitutes acceptance.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By using QPaper, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use QPaper. You must be at least 18 years old to subscribe to a paid plan.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Service

QPaper is a web app and Chrome extension that allows users to interact with PDF documents using AI. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee continuous availability, and AI responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your specific use case.

You are responsible for verifying any information returned by the AI before relying on it for academic, legal, medical, or other consequential decisions.

4. Subscriptions

Paid plans are billed monthly. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; your subscription will not auto-renew thereafter.

Plans available: Free, Basic, Pro, Unlimited. Each plan has different model access and monthly usage caps. See the pricing page for current details.

We may change plan pricing or quotas with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions are honored at their original pricing through the end of the current billing period.

5. Acceptable Use

You may not use the service for illegal purposes or to violate any laws, including but not limited to:

6. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by emailing studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com; we will delete associated subscription data within 30 days (usage logs anonymized, not deleted, for billing records).

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. In serious cases (e.g., automated abuse, attempts to extract model weights) we may terminate without notice. In other cases we will give reasonable notice and opportunity to cure. Refunds for terminated accounts are at our discretion; see Refund Policy.

7. Your Content & AI Outputs

You retain ownership of any content you input into QPaper (PDF documents, prompts, notes). We do not claim any rights to your content. We do not use your content to train AI models — your inputs are sent to AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) only to generate the response you requested, and are subject to those providers' data handling policies.

AI-generated outputs are provided to you. You are responsible for any use you make of them. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, originality, or fitness for purpose of AI outputs.

Reporting harmful AI outputs. Our AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) apply their own safety filters to generated content, and we do not add a separate moderation layer. If you believe an AI response you received was harmful, illegal, or violated this Acceptable Use policy, please report it to studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com with the conversation context and the request id (shown in error toasts as err #..., or visible in any 4xx/5xx response). We log reported cases for investigation and may pass anonymised details to the relevant AI provider.

8. Copyright & Intellectual Property

You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to access and process any PDF you open with QPaper. By using QPaper you grant us a limited, transient processing license to handle your document content solely to generate the AI response you requested; we do not retain or further use that content beyond this purpose.

DMCA Takedown Notices. QPaper respects intellectual-property rights. If you believe content accessible through our service infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com including: (1) identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed; (2) identification of the allegedly infringing material and its location; (3) your contact information; (4) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or applicable law; (5) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

DMCA Designated Agent: YAO YU TSAI — studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com

We will process valid notices promptly and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the infringing material.

9. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The service is provided without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of QPaper is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.

10. Governing Law & Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan). Any dispute arising from your use of QPaper that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to the Taipei District Court as the court of first instance.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms; material changes will be communicated via the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Refund Policy

This refund policy applies to paid subscriptions for QPaper, operated by YAO YU TSAI.

Eligibility

We offer a full refund within 14 days of any paid subscription charge if you are not satisfied with the service.

Refund requests made after 14 days are not eligible.

How to Request a Refund

Email us at studioursamajorofficial@gmail.com with your account email and the reason for your request. We will process your refund within 5 business days.

Refunds are issued through Paddle (our payment processor) back to the original payment method. Bank processing time may add several additional days.

Cancellations

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation stops future charges. If a recent charge is still within the 14-day refund window, you may request a refund separately.

Cancellation can be done through the Paddle customer portal (a link is provided in your subscription confirmation email and in the QPaper account settings).

Failed Refunds

If the original payment method has expired, been closed, or otherwise cannot receive the refund, Paddle will notify us. We will contact you to arrange an alternative payment method or, if no alternative is available, issue equivalent service credit applied to a future subscription.
